We realise that no family holiday is the same – this is especially true in Africa where there is so much to see, do and explore.
Africa is such a diverse destination. There are so many activities, accommodations and experiences on offer that finding the right holiday for your family can be quite daunting. Beachcomber Tours are extremely lucky to have one of our colleagues based in Cape Town. Sandy who runs our office in Cape Town has two children of her own so her knowledge of Africa as a family destination, activities and accommodation for families is invaluable. Family Holidays in South Africa
Of all of the destinations we sell in Africa, South Africa is most suitable for families with children of all ages and it certainly offers the greatest choice and range of family holiday experiences. It has it all from family safaris (including malaria free safaris), explorations of the Cape, adventures along the Garden Route to combinations with Mauritius.
Family Holidays in Botswana and Namibia
In both Botswana and Namibia we focus on small, intimate, remotely located camps which may have wildlife freely walking through them. With this in mind most of our luxury safari camps in both destinations only accept children over the age of 8. Our family holidays in both Botswana and Namibia are therefore suitable for families with older children.
Family holidays in Kenya
Kenya has grown as a family holiday destination and now offers a choice of family friendly safari lodges which offer their own kids clubs for 4 to 12 year olds. There's also the added benefit of combining a Kenya safari with time on the Kenyan coast. Although a number of the safari lodges do accept young children taking the kids when they are slightly older may be a more rewarding experience for all.
