Please remember that we can tailor make a combination of as many or as little of our destinations as you want!
South African Family Highlights
This is a fantastic itinerary for those wanting to explore everything that South Africa has to offer for city to beach and bush. We would recommend that this itinerary might be better for children over the age of 8 as there is a lot of driving involved and younger children may not get as much out of this as older children.
Day 1 – Arrive in Cape Town, collect your car and drive the Table Bay situated in the heart of the Victoria & Alfred waterfront. Spend 4 nights sampling all that Cape Town has to offer from the hustle and bustle of the Waterfront with its many shops, bars and restaurants, take the family on a cable car journey to the top of Table Mountain to see the stunning panoramic views, enjoy a morning at the aquarium or take your family out to one of the adventure parks close to Cape Town.
Day 5 – Drive to Hermanus where you will enjoy 3 nights at the Kurland Hotel located near Plettenburg Bay. There are many family friendly activities within the estate however Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve is right next door and offers equestrian activities, forest walks, beaches, water sports, and extreme activities such as bungee jumping or sky diving and all in a tranquil and safe environment.
Day 8 – Drive though some spectacular scenery in the winelands to the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve which offer two different lodges – the Garden Lodge is perfect for families with suites that can accommodate up to 2 adults and 3 children! There is so much to do – you will be spoilt for choice visit stone-age coastal caves, take a nature walk with a specialised guide, swim in the ocean, build a sandcastle or take a boat trip out to see the Cape fur seal conlony or spot a whale or shark!
Day 10 – Take the short drive back to Cape Town airport where you will connect with a flight to Johannesburg where you will take a light aircraft into the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve for 3 nights at the world famous Savanna Private Game Reserve where you will enjoy safari at its best. What better way could there be to end your African family holiday than sampling some of the best game viewing in South Africa.
Day 13 – Take a light aircraft back to Johannesburg to connect with your flight home.
Cosmopolitan Cape Town and Bustling Grande Baie
Day 1 – Arrive into Cape Town and transfer to Radisson SAS Hotel Waterfront where you will spend 5 nights in one of Cape Town’s best locations, close to the popular V & A waterfront. We would recommend upgrading to a business class room where you will enjoy stunning sea-views, this is a fantastic family base for you to explore all that Cape Town and the surrounding areas have to offer. We would recommend hiring a car so your family have more flexibility and independence.
Day 8 – Transfers back to Cape Town Airport to connect with a flight over to Mauritius where you can enjoy 7 nights at the newly refurbished Le Mauricia which is located right in the heart of lively Grande Baie. The warm Mauritian hospitality mixed with a youthful and dynamic atmosphere ensure this will be a family holiday to remember. Your children can be entertained in the kid’s club or take part in one of the many activities on the beach, alternatively you could take a trip to the botanical gardens and spend some quality family time taking in some fantastic sites.
Day 15 – Transfer back to Mauritius airport for you flight home.
