RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL
We are aware that tourism in these beautiful destinations should be carefully managed, so we aim to ensure that the environmental effect of our travellers on both local people and wildlife species is not overwhelming. This doesn't mean you compromise on either the quality or luxury of your accommodation, rather you'll find it adds an enriching aspect to where you choose to stay.
Interesting and thoughtful conservation and community projects are run alongside many of our safari lodges in Africa, and we play an active part in environmentally friendly schemes on Mauritius and in the Seychelles.
If you are keen to get more involved you can speak to your camp manager or hotelier whilst on holiday, as they will know how best you could help. If you would like to offset your carbon footprint for your flights, you can do this with our chosen partner Climate Care who can be found on http://www.climatecare.org.
2008 Update
We recently offset all staff Air travel between October and December 2007 with a total of £303.53 being offset or an amazing 40.47 tons of carbon. The most common destination are London Heathrow to Mauritius, London Heathrow to Dubai and London Heathrow to Cape Town. We will be offsetting all air travel from January to March in April.
