Sainte Anne Resort & Spa – Seychelles

I am just back from Sainte Anne Resort & Spa in the Seychelles, the UK weather is certainly a shock to the system after the warmth of the Seychelles.  Talking about the weather it is one of the Seychelles selling points with the days staying in the high 20’s year round!

Sainte Anne Resort & Spa is the only resort on Sainte Anne Island and it could not be easier to get to – a short ten minute drive from the international airport on Mahe takes you to Sainte Anne’s private jetty from where the resorts shuttle boats operate.  A further ten minutes by boat and you arrive on the paradise island of Sainte Anne.

The resort’s accommodation is villa style (there are just 87 villas), all are spacious, well equipped, have indoor and outdoor showers, private outdoor gazebos and all come with their own bikes (the bigger villas also have their own club cars!).  The bikes are a real hit and are a great / fun way of getting around the resort.  If a villa with a private plunge pool takes your fancy, 29 of the villas come with pools.

All inclusive Seychelles options are very limited and with Sainte Anne Resort now fully all inclusive it really is hard to beat.  Internationally branded spirits, an excellent choice of wine, a huge choice of cocktails, and champagne by the glass are all included.  On the dining front there’s a la carte dining from a choice of four restaurants and a superb buffet menu at L’Abondance.   The food in all of the restaurants was exceptional.  So good in fact I don’t have a favourite restaurant they all have their positives and as they are all included in the package you’ll get to try them all out.

What’s more the all inclusive package at Sainte Anne commences from the moment you arrive at the hotel until the time you depart.  This is a huge plus as many of the flights now arrive into Seychelles early morning or depart late at night.  Our flight home was just before midnight so we got to enjoy a delicious evening meal before leaving the hotel at 2130.  Having to buy an extra breakfast and lunch on arrival and lunch and dinner on departure is a fairly heavy extra which you don’t have to worry about at Sainte Anne!

Aside from the choice of 3 beaches, there’s a well equipped gym, kayaks, lazers, pedalloes, flood lit tennis courts, dive centre, snorkelling trips and a beautiful Clarins spa.  If you want to explore the island there are also a number of treks which are well worth the effort.

Other positives:

  • Free Shuttles to and from Mahe through the day so you can go and explore Mahe itself or enjoy a day trip to Praslin and La Digue.  If you are doing a Praslin day trip – June to September the sea is rough so if you don’t have good sea legs the ferry may not be the best option, I would take the flight!
  • Free Kids Club for 3 to 12 year olds.  The resort is also home to 3 giant tortoises which the kids will love
  • From November Green Back turtles lay their eggs on the beaches surrounding Sainte Anne. Usually late afternoon so you’ll have a good chance to see them
  • Sainte Anne is surrounded by a National Marine Park teaming with fish

If you are after a Seychelles all Inclusive holiday then Sainte Anne should be top of your list.
