Family Holiday Ideas

Beachcomber has a proud history of organising tailor-made holidays for all our clients especially families. The Middle East is a fantastic choice for those who want to twin-centre within the Middle East or with Mauritius, Seychelles and Africa. We know that each family and each child have different wish lists for their holidays so we have put together some popular itineraries to give you an idea or just a place to start.

Please remember that we can tailor make a combination of as many or as little of our destinations as you want!

City Excitement and Musandam Exploration

Day 1 – Arrive in Dubai and transfer to the Park Hyatt. You will spend 3 nights at this luxury retreat next to the world famous Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. In a great location, you can spend 3 nights soaking up the hustle and bustle of Dubai. Your family could learn to ski for the first time at one of the worlds largest indoor ski centres. Enjoy the world famous Wild Wadi Water Park, stare at some of the greatest predators on earth at Dubai Aquarium or even experience the excitement of camel racing one of Dubai’s most popular attractions, enjoy its world class shopping, fantastic restaurants, bars and entertainment or simply lie by the pool and soak up some sunshine. If you would prefer to be by the beach why not try the Ritz-Carlton?
Day 4 – Transfer by road to the Six Senses Hideaway at Zighy Bay where you will spend 7 nights enjoying indulgent seclusion at its best. After the buzz of Dubai city, it is time for the tranquillity and beauty of Oman’s Musandam peninsula. The route to Zighy Bay is stunning – you travel through mountain roads before it opens up to the beautiful bay. The all-villa accommodation is perfect for families wanting to stay all together with two and three bedroom villas available. The emphasis here is on relaxation however they have not forgotten about children – you can hire bikes and explore the surrounding area, enjoy a swim in the pool or even take a trip out of the bay and experience the thrill of quad biking through the dunes.
Day 11 – Return to Dubai for your flight back to the UK.

Eastern Cape Safari, Bustling Cape Town and Dubai Beach

This itinerary is for the adventurous family as there are quite a few transfers and accommodations – we would probably recommend this for families with older children so they can get the best from the stunning scenery and fantastic cuisine on offer.

Day 1 – Arrive into Johannesburg and take a connecting flight to Port Elizabeth. Pick up your car and drive out to Lalibela Game Reserve where you will spend 3 nights enjoying fantastic game viewing, stunning scenery and great service. For families we would suggest Mark’s Camp which has some fantastic two-bedroom family suites which are ideal for larger families!
Day 4 – Drive back to Port Elizabeth and fly to Cape Town where you will pick up your car and drive towards Table Mountain where you will spend 2 nights at the Cape Grace Hotel for larger families or groups they have some great two and three bedroom suites that can accommodate up to 6 people. We suggest taking your family on a cable car ride up table mountain to see the fantastic views of Cape Town and the surrounding area and maybe a trip to the aquarium located in the Victoria and Alfred waterfront followed by lunch at one of the many restaurants and cafes.
Day 6 – Wake up and spend the day at leisure sampling more of the great attractions Cape Town has to offer before returning the car at Cape Town airport and flying overnight to Dubai.
Day 7 – Arrive into Dubai airport and take your private transfer to Le Royal Meridien Resort & Spa where you will spend 5 nights in the heart of the action on Jumeirah Beach. Shop in the world famous Emirates shopping mall, sample one of the many types of cuisine on offer or take a trip out to the dunes and experience a thrilling 4x4 desert safari. You could even learn to ski if you wanted……
Day 12 – Transfer back to Dubai airport for your flight home!

Beautiful Beaches and City Chic

There are many options when combining Mauritius and Dubai. There is something in both locations to suit all tastes and budgets, we have chosen one of our most popular family combinations to get you started!

Day 1 – Arrive at Mauritius airport transfer up to the North of the Island and arrive at Le Canonnier. You will spend 7 nights at this great value hotel in an idyllic setting that has recently been completely renovated to an excellent standard. Here you have a choice of rooms that can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child under 6 or family apartments that can accommodate up to 2 adults and 3 children under 12! You have so much choice at this hotel, just flop on the beach whilst your children indulge in some fantastic activities at the Bob Marlin mini club, or the whole family could attempt to water ski for the first time. You could even charter your own boat and try to catch a fish - you really will be spoilt for choice.
Day 8 – Spend the day relaxing before taking a shared minibus back to Mauritius Airport for your overnight flight to Dubai.
Day 9 – Arrive at Dubai Airport. From here you will transfer through the city and over the creek to the famous Jumeirah Beach. You will spend 4 nights at the Mina A Salam within the fantastic Madinat Jumeirah resort. To get around the resort you can walk or take one of the gondolas that float around the resorts waterways. Shop in the resorts souk, sample one of the many types of cuisine on offer or take a trip out to the dunes and experience a thrilling 4x4 desert safari.
Day 13 – Transfer back to Dubai Airport for your flight home.
