Family holiday ideas
There are so many ways to see the Seychelles - it is all dependent on the type of family holiday you are looking for. Some families just want a beach holiday with activities planned out for their children and some are more active and like to spend there time doing activities together. Below are a few options we have put together, there is something for all. But remember these are only our ideas. We can tailor make anything to fit in with you and your family.
Island Hopping
Island hopping is an excellent way to discover more than one aspect of the Seychelles. Many islands are just tiny coral atolls, studded in the Indian Ocean, and offer an amazingly secluded castaway experience. Each has its own treasures to explore and atmosphere to enjoy. You can choose to travel by plane, boat or helicopter, and Beachcomber’s knowledgeable team will be pleased to assist you in tailor-making your own individual family holiday itinerary.
Getting Around
Air Seychelles domestic flights have good, reliable connections between the islands. Mahé is the hub of most flights around the Seychelles.
Mahé to Praslin: 15 mins – frequent daily flights.
Mahé to Denis: 30 mins – 6 flights weekly,
excluding Wednesdays.
Mahé to Bird: 30 mins – 1 flight per day.
Mahé to Desroches: 30 mins – 5 flights weekly.
Travelling by boat
Arriving by boat can add to your island experience, but do bear in mind that the sea can be rough at times. We recommend boat transfers between the inner islands, not for longer journeys. Praslin to La Digue offers daily transfers by motor schooner.
Helicopter Transfers
This is the best way to get around the islands. It’s quick, exciting and the views on arrival can be spectacular. Mahé to Frégate, Cousine and North Island is by helicopter transfer only.

Untamed Botswana, Breathtaking Victoria Falls and Stunning Seychelles
Most camps in Botswana accept children over the age of 8 however we would suggest that this itinerary would be better for those with older children as there are quite a few transfers and changes in accommodation. Also there are no children's clubs at the camps in Botswana so younger children may not get the most out of this fantastic experience.
Day 1– Arrive in Johannesburg and fly to Maun from there you will take a light aircraft to Xigera Camp which is a waterland paradise situated in the heart of the Delta in the Moremi Game Reserve where you will spend two nights enjoying unique activities including Mokoro trips (traditional wooden boats with punts) and sampling some fantastic game viewing.
Day 3 – From here you will take a light aircraft to Duma Tau and spend 2 nights in the Linyanti Reserve. The camp overlooks a vast hippo filled-lagoon and one of the many highlights is a chance to watch huge herds of Elephants, especially in the dry winter season!
Day 5 – Take a light aircraft to Kasani and spend the day at leisure taking in one of the seven natural wonders of the world at Victoria Falls. Transfer by road to The River Club and spend 2 nights soaking the idyllic charm of this hotel on the banks of the Zambezi.
Day 7 – Fly from Livingstone to Johannesburg and spend 1 night at the Intercontinental.
Day 8 – Fly from Johannesburg to Mahé in the Seychelles. Transfer by boat and road to Beachcomber's private island of Sainte Anne.
